Cloud black porcelain matcha bowl

This tea bowl is crafted from a specially customized black porcelain clay body with a dense, refined texture that produces a clear, bright resonance when lightly tapped.

Its wide base provides ample space for the 茶箲     （chasen） to move freely and create a rich, delicate foam. The subtly flared elevated foot offers both stability and a view of the bowl’s complete form.

Inspired by the traditional philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, the design embraces natural imperfection while maintaining functionality. The hand-painted, cloud-like fields of color echo the artist’s ongoing Cloud Series sculptures, bringing the fleeting beauty of clouds and mist into a functional ceramic form.
